Manor Vase – Ceramic Plaster Mould
Overview:
The Manor Vase mould is a beautifully balanced, medium-sized slipcasting mould ideal for studio potters and ceramic artists. Designed for both functional and decorative pieces, it produces a classic, slightly rounded vase form with graceful proportions and a stable base — perfect for glazes, surface decoration, or layered casting experiments.
Dimensions (internal cavity):
Height: ~145 mm (just under 6 inches)
Width: ~120 mm (just under 5 inches)
These measurements refer to the inner form — the finished vase size after shrinkage may vary slightly depending on your clay body and firing temperature.
Recommended Use:
Slip type: Standard earthenware or stoneware casting slip
Ideal wall thickness: 4–6 mm (depending on drain time)
Casting duration: Approx. 12–18 minutes for average absorbency plaster at 20 °C
Drain direction: From the top via central pouring hole
Features:
High-quality ceramic plaster (smooth absorbent surface for crisp detail)
Two-part mould with precision registration keys for perfect alignment
Reinforced outer edges to minimize chipping and cracking
Designed for repeated studio use when properly dried between castings
Design Inspiration:
The Manor Vase form references traditional English pottery with a soft shoulder and subtle taper — timeless and adaptable to modern or rustic finishes alike. Excellent for experimenting with layered slips, marbled effects, or contrasting glazes.
Care Tips:
Allow the mould to dry thoroughly between casts to maintain absorbency.
Avoid soaking or washing — brush out residual clay slip instead.
Store in a dry, ventilated area to prevent mould growth or plaster degradation.
For longevity, rotate casting use with other moulds to extend lifespan.
